"Waterloo Home Improvement is my "go to" reno company. Scott personally has worked on many renovation projects at our house over the years including our basement, ensuite bathroom, upstairs bathroom, and most recently, our kitchen. Last year, we decided to take down 2 load bearing walls on our main floor to convert our dining room/kitchen/family room to an open concept family room/kitchen. There is no other company that I would trust to install beams and do a reno of this magnitude. Scott walked us through the entire process of applying for permits, having an engineering company review and approve the plan, and working with a kitchen designer to transform our main floor and create my dream kitchen. "Waterloo Home Improvement has renovated the three floors of our house. We did the  project in two stages, first the basement and then the main and upper floor. Scott Karn and his  team took the basement back to the studs and then rebuilt the walls and the flooring in the  basement, taking care of drainage issues and putting in a French drain system. This renovation  included upgrading a bathroom in the basement as well. Four years later, when it came time to  renovate the main and second floors of the house, Waterloo Home Improvement, once again took care of overseeing a complete updating of our wiring and plumbing. They removed  stippled ceilings and got the ceilings ready for pot lights with energy efficient bulbs. Their work  in remodeling our kitchen and bathroom was the most complete transformation of the whole  project where they framed and built the spaces and then oversaw the other trades coming in to do cabinetry, tiling, plumbing, and electrical work. Scott was excellent at creating a timeline for the project, determining how long each aspect of the project would take, and then lining up the  various companies to come in and do their part in the process. In addition to this work, Scott  and some members of his team built a custom fireplace to go with the insert we put in our  living room to make it more modern. The project met the budget that Scott had set for us in  the initial contract. We are happy to be a reference for Waterloo Home Improvement as people who have worked on two major projects with Scott and his team."

"Scott and his crew at Waterloo Home Improvement redid our entire main floor and the master bathroom in our house. They removed a support post in the front hallway and added a  beam to take the load and also a complete kitchen renovation. In the master bathroom they  moved all the plumbing and electrical, and closed a door and opened another one in a different  location. The budget for the project that was set at the beginning was the amount that was  paid at the end of the project. There were no hidden costs or surprises that weren't accounted  for. The timeline that was set at the beginning was also more or less what it was at the end, the  reason it was over by 2 weeks was out of Scott's control, and they still did everything to make  sure all we had to do was that final missing piece.  The crew showed up on time everyday and was always respectful and used appropriate  language around our children. They also always cleaned up any area they were working in at  the end of the day so there was not an excess of mess everywhere, which I greatly appreciated. Scott was on site everyday in the house to make sure that the timeline was being kept  and that we didn't have any issues or concerns. The trades that Scott brought in also were very  top notch and knew exactly what they were doing and did it very well. Scott was incredibly  responsive to phone calls or emails or notes if we had to reach him, we knew we would hear back very quickly, even if we wrote him at 11 pm!! The quality of work is exceptional, and we  both are very happy, pleased, and impressed with the final outcome. We are very happy to  have such a usable and functional space that Scott and his team helped turn my vision into a  reality."
